I have spent much of my time at Duke studying education policy with plans to attend law school after graduation. I am particularly interested in the ways educational disparities along racial and socioeconomic lines lead to persisting inequalities in other facets of society, especially after my own experience in a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public School System that is struggling with its rapid resegregation.
I joined the Schooling and Parenting Bass Connections team eager to find greater understanding of the education research that may ultimately influence policy. I also joined excited to explore the crossroads between tracking, parenting, and attitudes towards schooling and contemplate how these factors shape student trajectories.
