There has been no prior research conducted to formally describe the migration and illness experiences of the population living in las colonias.
Supported by a Bass Connections follow-on grant, Kristen will extend her Bass Connections project team research by focusing on migration and illness narratives of mainland Hondurans who have moved to squatter communities (colonias) on the island of Roatán. She plans to use this experience toward an honors thesis. Dennis Clements is her mentor.
