Nutrition and Cognition (2014-2015)
The goal of this project team was to develop effective strategies to address disordered eating on college campuses, behaviors that directly influence a student’s capacity to learn.
The team designed and implemented a series of laboratory studies to examine the impact of disordered eating behaviors (e.g., skipping meals, avoiding certain macronutrients) on cognition (e.g., attention, working memory). Using marketing strategies, team members investigated how to communicate these findings and/or how to alter the food environment in a way to reduce these dangerous behaviors.
