Improving Cancer Control Equity in China (2023-2024)
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in China. Not only are there significant disparities in cancer morbidity and mortality across different regions and subpopulations in China, but there also are significant care gaps between China and other high-income countries.
This project team conducted research to identify and develop effective interventions and policies that will help close the cancer inequality gap in China. They also worked to create a series of cancer advocacy resources that will raise awareness of cancer inequity among larger global populations.
The team researched cancer-related literature, policies, databases, interventions and artworks, and used web-based tools to upgrade an interactive, participatory website started by a previous team. The site maps cancer burden and relevant data, digitizes cancer prevention and control policies and intervention documents, lists support resources and presents cancer experience stories.
