Franklin Humanities Institute Supports Six Bass Connections Projects for 2016-2017

The John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute has selected six Bass Connections project teams to support for the 2016-2017 academic year:

• Art, Vision and the Brain: Autism and Face Processing
• Beauty in Balance and Balance in Beauty: An Exploration of the Laws of Physics in Abstract Modern Art
• The Construction of Memory at Duke and in Durham: Using Memory Studies  
• Digital Cities and Polysensing Environments
• Global Mental Health-Integrative Training Program  
• NC Jukebox.

Since 2015-2016, the FHI has provided additional support for Bass Connections project teams that feature historical perspectives, diverse language processes and products, or aesthetic dimensions of reflections. Previously-supported project teams include:

• Digital Archaeological and Historic Landscapes: Laboratory and Fieldwork  
• The Lives of Things
• Movement, Grace and Embodied Cognition
• NC Jukebox.
