Duke to Share Energy Education Lessons at National Summit

At the 2nd National Energy Education Summit on June 7, Steve Hicks will present a session on project-based learning as a catalyst for energy education.

Hicks is associate director for education at the Duke University Energy Initiative and theme administrator for Bass Connections in Energy.

His session will describe how project-based learning is being used effectively as a vehicle to engage both undergraduate and graduate students in broad, interdisciplinary energy education opportunities. He’ll share examples of interdisciplinary projects using team-based structures and processes, including Bass Connections, and will discuss lessons learned.

Energy Education Summit

Organized by the National Council for Science and the Environment’s Council of Energy Research and Education Leaders, the summit will be held at American University in Washington, DC.
