Duke PhD Student Wins Award for Global Health Poster

Lauren Wyatt, a doctoral student at the Nicholas School of the Environment who is mentored by Bill Pan, professor of global environmental health, recently won a poster award from the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology.
 
The research she presented on mercury exposure from gold mining is from her participation on a Bass Connections project team, Environmental Epidemiology Research Training in the Peruvian Amazon. Her poster was titled Characterizing Temporal Mercury Exposure from Hair in Women of Child Bearing Age Exposed to Mercury from Regional Gold Mining in Madre de Dios, Peru.
