3/31: Rethinking Appalachia: Technology, Education and Rural Entrepreneurship
A Education & Human Development project team, "Education and Rural Entrepreneurship in Appalachia" has been exploring the educational needs, challenges and opportunities in North Carolina's rural mountain communities. Team members have researched the traditionally agricultural region and collaborated with local educators and regional development experts to create an educational pipeline to rural entrepreneurship opportunities for the community. Join the Bass Connections team and other notable speakers, including Beverly Perdue, North Carolina's 73rd governor, and Becky Anderson, an economic development consultant for the Appalachian region for this Bass Connections panel. The team will be presenting their research and various panelists will discuss the goal of connecting digital learning to IT job opportunities to Madison County.
The panel will take place on Tuesday, March 31st, from 6 - 7:30pm, at the Edge at Duke University's Bostock Library. All are welcome to attend, and we look forward to seeing you there!
