Back in my home country of China, women outperform men in STEM fields in high school. However, the majority of STEM majors in universities are men. Coming to the U.S., I was surprised to observe the same situation. Women and minorities are under-represented in STEM fields all over the globe.

Therefore, I joined the team and hope to find out if incorporating active-learning techniques can improve current college STEM education and thus help increase retention rates of women and minorities.
