ENVIRON 454: Rainforest Engineering

Spring 2024

Instructor: Martin Brooke, Stuart Pimm

This is an open-format, project-based class for graduate student interested in environment, engineering and design with a focus on rainforests and related environments. Graduate students will be engaged in cross-disciplinary team challenges that will teach them to work together with other students of differing backgrounds and skills. The ideal challenge would be similar to the XPRIZE contests or the NAE Grand Challenges.

Graduate students taking this class will collaborate with undergraduates taking a similar class and are expected to provide mentorship and leadership for their undergraduate collaborators. A part of the grade for the class will reflect this mentorship.
