Project Vox: Evolving Curricula for Digital Humanities Publishing (2023-2024)

Project Vox seeks to highlight philosophical works by individuals traditionally excluded from the philosophical canon. Initially focused on early modern women, Project Vox now includes philosophers outside of the Western philosophical canon and beyond the early modern period. The team is committed to expanding and challenging the history of philosophy by promoting inclusivity and diversity.

Since its inception in Fall 2014, Project Vox has grown into globally accessed and acclaimed open educational resource. Building on the work of previous teams, the 2023-2024 team expanded Project Vox by researching and writing a new entry on philosopher Germaine de Staël, and published monthly blog posts on a range of topics related to their research. The team also launched SandVox, a web portal for making unconventional scholarly work more accessible to the public.

Team members were divided into four subteams focusing on primary and secondary research, image sourcing and documentation, outreach and assessment, and visualization, each responsible for specific tasks such as developing biographies, managing metadata, running social media campaigns, and using visualization software.
