NEUROSCI 191FS-01: Intersections of the Sexual Brain

Our understanding of how the human brain and environment interconnect has evolved dramatically with recent advances in neuroscience research methods. In this course, students will analyze such interconnections and the impact on societal theories of human sexuality. Students will assess influential factors such as ethnicity/race, cultureĀ and religion, all diversely represented in contemporary America. Students will also read and discuss scientific and popular articles with historical context and explore the consequences of scientific observations on the personal, societal and political levels. The course will help students develop written and oral communication skills and work collaboratively with fellow peers.
