Bass Connections Ambassadors are students who bring perspectives, ideas and insights to Bass Connections and interdisciplinary education at Duke.
We are now accepting applications for 2026-2027 Bass Connections Ambassadors. Applications are due on Sunday, September 13, by 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Duke students of all levels and programs, including both undergraduates and graduate/professional students, are eligible to participate. All applicants must be current or former members of a year-long Bass Connections project team. Prospective members should have interest in interdisciplinary programming and a desire to contribute their perspectives, ideas and feedback to the continued development of Bass Connections.
What Do Ambassadors Do?
Ambassadors meet 2-3 times per semester over lunch. The commitment is for the full academic year.
Ambassadors will:
- Contribute to the development of Bass Connections strategy and serve as a vital source of new ideas and feedback for the program.
- Participate in special events and represent the program in a variety of contexts, such as at student orientations, the Bass Connections Fair, Blue Devil Days and the year-end Bass Connections Showcase.
- Serve as judges for year-end awards.
- Write a reflection on their Bass Connections experience for possible publication on the Bass Connections website.

In Fall 2026, Ambassadors will meet on:
- Friday, September 25 from 12-1 p.m. (in person w/ lunch)
- Friday, October 23 from 12-1 p.m. (in person w/ lunch)
- Friday, November 13 from 12-1 p.m. (TBD)
Past Student Leadership
Students have had a role in shaping Bass Connections since its inception, including through the former Bass Connections Student Advisory Council, which ran through 2024. Browse past council members:
