Mental Health: A First Responder’s Perspective

Tuesday, February 21, 2017 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Stemming the Opiate Epidemic through Education and Outreach is a Bass Connections project that partners with at-risk individuals, families and their medical providers to develop and disseminate resources and materials to help prevent misuse, addiction and death.

Join Bass Connections in Brain & Society and Duke NAMI to learn about how Durham’s law enforcement community and first responders have collaborated with mental health providers to improve response to citizens in crisis resulting from mental health issues, addiction and developmental delays. Free pizza will be provided.

Students interested in getting involved in this research can apply for the 2017-2018 team or a related summer project through Data+, Mental Health Interventions by Durham Police.
